How to Register

Clark Students

• Register via CUWeb as you would for the fall/spring semesters. You do not need a registration PIN. Consult with your academic adviser if you have questions about which course(s) to take and how they fit into your program requirements.

Visiting Students

• Please complete this form to begin the enrollment process.
  • Once you are approved to take a course, you will be sent information from the Office of Graduate Admission to set up your Clark email address and login credentials. If you are taking an undergraduate course, your information will still be sent from the Graduate Admission office.
  • All visiting students should submit their completed form at least one week before the course starts to allow enough time to activate their Clark student record to access the course and resources.

To be successful in an online course, you will access materials and submit assignments in Canvas regularly. Canvas is Clark’s Learning Management System (LMS). It is your responsibility to ensure that you can do so. At a minimum, you will need access to the Internet and a supported Web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari).

In general, you will be expected to submit assignments in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF format (Clark provides MS Office at no extra cost if you need it). Unless the assignment specifically requires an alternate format, please be sure to submit in one of the above formats or the instructor reserves the right not to grade the assignment. If students need assistance with converting or formatting documents, they should contact the ITS Help Desk.

Clark offers courses in various subjects in different modalities: fully in-person on our Worcester campus; fully online with and without live Zoom class meetings; and hybrid (mix of in-person and online).

Due to the accelerated nature of the courses, we recommend students do not take more than one course per Summer Session.  

Current Clark students need to petition the College Board to take more than two courses during the summer. 

Select courses may have materials or lab fees. 

Summer courses are offered at a reduced rate when compared to the same course taken during the fall and spring semesters. Many students find Summer School courses to be an economical way to make up credits or advance toward graduation. 

Current Clark University students:  

Eligible Clarkies may be awarded scholarships administered by the Division of Student Success. 

Federal financial aid may be available for eligible students during the summer semester. To be considered an eligible student, you must be enrolled at Clark University or in a Clark University-approved program AND be billed through Clark University.  To apply, applicants must complete the FAFSA for the upcoming academic year. Students enrolled at least half-time are eligible to use a portion of their fall/spring federal loan allocation to assist with billed summer costs. Students eligible for the Federal Direct Pell Grant who are enrolled in at least 1 course may be eligible to receive a summer Pell Grant in addition to their fall/spring grant allocation to assist with billed summer costs. The exact amount of aid a student is eligible to receive is determined by the submission of the FAFSA and the student’s enrollment. 

Yes! You’ll need to complete and submit the required form to the Registrar’s office before the deadline.  

Please note that the fee for auditing a course is the same as taking the course for credit.   

As a visiting international student, please use the following information to determine your eligibility to participate in Summer Courses and Programs at Clark University.  

F-1 Students  

New Students: 

• To qualify for student immigration sponsorship, you must study full-time.  This means if you are enrolling at Clark for the first time during the summer session, you will need to enroll in three courses, two of which must be in person, between Summer One and Summer Two Sessions.  You can view additional full-time requirements and how to maintain your status at http://mj0z.lcsgxgy.com/international-students-scholars/immigration/f-1-students/

• In order to apply for an F-1 visa to the US, you must first be admitted to Clark in order to obtain an I-20 immigration document from Clark University. For information on how to apply Clark University, please email isso@lcsgxgy.com, and we will direct you to the next steps.  

Current Students:  

• If you are a current F-1 student at any institute with an active I-20, you are permitted to participate in Summer Courses at Clark University.  

• If you are a current F-1 student with an active I-20 that will expire or you are enrolled in an academic program that will end before enrolling in Summer Term, you must extend your Program to participate in Summer Courses. • If you are enrolled at another US college/university program in F-1 status in Spring and will continue studying at that same school in the following Fall, you may be able to study at Clark University under your current F-1 student immigration status. Students in this situation are eligible to study full-time or part-time. Please email ISSO@lcsgxgy.com to ensure you are eligible to study before registration.  

B-1/B-2 Visitor Visas and WT/WB Status
Visitor immigration status does not permit full-time enrollment. A Visitor Visa permits enrollment in a short recreational course of study, that is avocational or recreational and which is not for credit toward a degree or academic certificate.  Clark University may be hosting short-term recreational experiences through the American Language and Culture Institute.  Please email ALCI@lcsgxgy.com to see what summer experiences are available.   

Other Visa Statuses (for example, J-1, J-2, H-1B, H-4)
If you are currently in the US in a different nonimmigrant category, you may be eligible to take courses during Clark’s Summer Term, depending on your immigration status. Please email isso@lcsgxgy.com for more information. 

Clark University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).  As such, Clark credits are transferrable.  It is, however, at the discretion of the receiving college/university to decide how they award transfer credit.

Please contact your home institution to secure permission before you enroll at Clark.

Course registration opens Monday, February 10, 2025 and closes Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Students who will be parking on campus during the day (not overnight) will not need a pass and can park on the roof of the Kneller Parking Garage, located near the intersection of Downing Street and Florence Street next to the Kneller Athletic Center (57 Downing St., Worcester, MA 01610). 

Students staying overnight will need to purchase a pass for $50 with either cash or a check made out to Clark University. Parking passes are available to purchase at the University Police Office located in the basement of Bullock Hall.

Clark uses Canvas as our Learning Management System.  All course materials are housed in a Canvas course that you will access regularly.  Faculty will communicate with you, give and grade assignments in Canvas.
